To me, Dom DeLuise was a fellow citizen of my hometown. I would see him all the time, at the supermarket, sitting at the table next to me at a local restaurant, the hardware store, etc... I would always see him driving around in his gold Mercedes Benz. Nobody seemed to ever bother him and treated him as a 'just us folks' guy. My grandpa once saw him with his good friend Burt Reynolds on a fishing boat in upstate NY. He did disappear for most of this decade and stayed in LA due to poor health. I remember before he dissapeared people kept asking about his health and he would be like "ehh I'm hanging in there." He will be missed. Here is a local article about him.
