Money is not an issue to him. Ziming paid a year in advance to have the site transferred to a host of my choice along with the domain fee. We've actually been talking about this since last May, so it was far from last minute.

As for the new look, all of these dealbreakers sure are a way to reward hard work. Haha. I've dealt with it all already over at Biohaze, but in the end 99% of everyone was happy with the remake over there. It'll be what it is, but if you want the old school theme it will be optional. Just remember that was a phpbb2 theme while we are now on 3.7, so converting it would be quite the hassle. I can make it available, though many of the new features may not work correctly. It will be optional within a few days after launch however, so don't fret.

Oh and as for Axm, he is a poster over at Biohaze as well. He said since I was adding some new direction to the site he'd consider coming back. I have a feeling he'll frequent after the rebirth later tonight/morning.

Edit: Oh and btw, I saw the two "possible" templates before I took over and they were just that, template (not from scratch) and very white and bright. Don't worry, I rolled my eyes too.

Yama is like that girl you see at the bus stop every day going to school. You have known of them for quite a while, then one day just fall completely i love with them. :theyreontome:

Also Yama, have you any idea why the SD carries the websense tag of "Games", as in you can play games on the site, thus websense in my hospital blocks SD, but here at HD i can access it fine. I have almost full internet access in my job, but playing games and pornography are the only 2 issues that were websensed. Was there a game playing function on SD?

I mean there was 3 gameplay discs, compared to the Sonic Adventure and Crazi Taxi games that are slated to be the first DC DLC released. Is it even possible to completely upgrade Shenmues original graphics and sound for HD consoles? If it is surely it would take a while!
I guess that it should be possible to upgrade to HD. I mean, if it works for those other games. And I've seen an article where they said that the original assets are in higher resolution and got converted to a lower one for the game. The same for the audio. I'm actually quite sure that that is the case since it often is for audio. You record in higher quality and convert afterwards to the intended medium. Kind of just in case for later purposes and mixing reasons.

Ah, but then what about the older games featured in Shenmue that we can play in the arcade, such as Hang On and Space Harrier etc.

Also can i ask if the whole Shenmue game is over 4 gigabytes, or would each disc have been that size? The reason i ask is because due to the size of the game, it would require a hell of a lot of space on the HDDs of both the PS3 and 360. Also on top of that, i wonder if it will come with a higher cost of points or credits due to the size of the game.

Don't know about the arcade ones. Should be possible too I guess.

As for the 4 GB. One GD-rom is 1GB so we have 3-4GB of data. But lots of assets like characters/locations needed to be on several discs due to the freedom we got. As one single installtion it doesn't have to be included several times which saves space. On the other hand a higher resolution will take up more space. But the PS3 already had Siren:Blood Curse as download and I think that one is around 10 GB in total divided in a few episodes/chapters for download. So it wouldn't be impossible.

Ah that sounds promising! Definately definately have to expect Shenmue, at least announced for DLC by the end of 2010. I think that if/when it is, then the excitement generated by All Stars Racing will be not only replicated, but also enhanced quite a bit. Ive always been a believer that Shenmue 3 will come one day, and now i think the little breadcrumbs are leading a trail, with each becoming bigger as Shenmue related products sales figures increase (All Star Racing game.... Ryo Hazuki Jacket on XBLA.... Shenmue DLC....)
I dont know if Shenmue 2 wuld be on the cards for an upgrade, even if a Shenmue DLC sold well. It was released on the Xbox, thus playable on the 360, plus Microsoft still have the publising rights (not sure on that though).

Let's just wait and see for an actual announcement of Shenmue.
Just because they said DC games does not guarantee Shenmue will be added. Not saying they won't but people keep acting like it's a sure thing when it isn't and if it does not come people will be pissed off and getting in rages for something they convinced themselves it's coming.

Don't give me the "but the racing game blah blah" Sega these days as we know acts really wierd. It's kinda like watching a crosseyed drunk trying to walk in a straight line.

I'm with Ryudo. Especially considering we are Shenmue fans, it's just rediculous to count our chickens before they hatch. Look what that has gotten us since 2002, nothing...

I'll remain optimistic, as I think it'd give the series a huge boost. However I'm not rejoicing until an official announcement.

Well, to be honest I'm not expecting it actually. It would be stupid of Sega maybe, but judging by the last few years I choose to remain a bit pessimistic. Just in case of so to speak. So I'm merely speaking hypothetically.
And still kind of hoping, just not expecting too much ;)

I guess its hard to have hope for a game that will never see the light of day, but with Shenmue DLC, i just think its a realistic hope that it will come. Personally, i think Sega would be foolish not to release the title, especially if the Sega Facebook page is anything to go by. I believe the demands there for the sales, especially if the cost of upgrading the game is virtually cheap to do.
But as Blue said, Sega are full of idiotic decisions these days, so perhaps we can expect AMAZING titles such as Dragons Blood, WWF Attitude and ECW Revolution. Woooooo  :help:

But anyways, whats up with the new Dojo Yama? Will it take longer for it to come online due to the new problems that have came up?

It shouldn't take too long. The problem is the gallery database, it isn't moveable without rebuilding. This wasn't envisioned. I feel bad saying it would be up and it didn't go up, just know that was said with all good intentions. This was unforseen and was literally the last thing to work on. The site is 100% minus this gallery, however I feel it is an important (and huge) part to the site. With that said, if it becomes too lengthy, the site will be launched and the gallery will go up sometime soon after. But I'm shooting to launch it all at once still. One way or the other, we'll all be enjoying the Dojo again this weekend.

For a little more detail, we're working with 4027 images here. It will definitely be one of the favorite parts of the new site, something we've needed for quite some time. Redoing this and implementing by hand is quite the procedure, however I feel it'll be worth it in the end. Thanks for the patience... I'm just as excited to launch as everyone else!

Wow, i didnt think there would have been that much images in the dojo gallery. In fact the last time i checked, the majority of the images in there were broken links! It had been that long since the topics creation that many links had become broken. I remember i used an independent site before Photobucket became equally popular and credible to use, and the independent site shut down, taking all the photos it had on its servers with it.

But i must say, hats off to you for putting in the effort! Il donate some notes once we are live!
