HBO Shows

Post by [mYLES] »

You guys watch any Showtime/HBO right now?

I'm in the middle of watching Big Love Season 3 and Californication Season 2. Two totally different shows. I would love to see someone here that watches Big Love just so I can talk about it :)

You guys watch these types of shows? Intense and in depth sometimes!

I haven't seen those. But I have seen Six Feet Under. I started watching the Sopranos and Deadwood. And of course my favorite, Dexter.

I've watched Dexter and The Wire, starting to make my way through Curb and Sopranos. Hey, you know what else is on Showtime? Some show with a kajillion lesbians. Sounds intriguing...

Haha, there's enough porn related shows on there too, that's for sure! Cathouse is fun once in a while with the girlfriend.

I would love to get into Dexter, but I missed the first season. Am I really missing that much though?

Oh, and watch Big Love. Everyone should. But give it a few episodes, it takes a minute to get into.

Yeah, Dexter is well worth it. And you definitely need to start with the first season. It rocks.

I know Chaos likes Big Love and has told me to watch it before. Of course I haven't got to it yet since I'm still making my way through The Sopranos. (And I kind of stopped on Deadwood and haven't got back to that yet. :theyreontome: )

You guys should watch the Wire. It's a work of genius.

Aside from parts of season 5, yeah. Fantastic show.

I'm also partial to Curb Your Enthusiasm, as far as comedy is concerned.

Hey, I watch Big Love too. :D Good show. I can't believe (spoilers for season 3)
Spoiler: (Highlight to read)
Joey finally killed Roman. Felt so good to see that fucker die.
My favorite HBO show is a tossup between Deadwood and Six Feet Under. Both are amazing shows. Sopranos was awesome too. Oz is good from what I've seen of it. I used to watch Curb Your Enthusiasm. I need to download those some time. Hilarious show.

As far as showtime, Dexter and Californication are great. I've only watched season one of Californication though, so I need to get back into that.

I get enough of the mormon community being in Utah, so that's a negative on Big Love. And while I used to like the Sopranos, the ending of the series really killed it for me. Awful final season. Dexter is one of the better shows I've seen lately, but it doesn't really pick up until season two. I just hope they have somewhere to take it from here.

And I love Curb Your Enthusiasm. Very excited to hear about a Season 7.

You're very, very silly.

You're referring to the newspaper stuff aren't you. I thought that thread didn't really work either.

I thought Season one was kind of uninteresting, to be honest. Doakes pursuit of Dexter is what was really compelling me to watch. I wasn't into the whole mysterious killer thing going on in the first season.

Indeed. Strange, given David Simon's history as a newspaper-man, but it really didn't click.

The Life and Times of Tim and Eastbound & Down were funny as hell. I can't wait for the 2nd seasons.

I started watching Eastbound and Down thinking it was going to be something completly different, like more serious, but it's fucking funny.

I've seen bits and pieces of The Wire, I should play that through.
